Handbrake and FilmRedux wouldn't load the file. VisualHub would load it but I only have the trial version. Finally got Ffmpeg to load it.

Maybe upload some sample file, example on ifile.it or depositfiles.com?... Divx 7 released - I have no interest in mkv. It would have been nice if it could exported to flv. I mean how many video formats do we really need? Divx for the internet and some dvd players, FLV for the internet and mpeg2 for the obvious.

That doesn't sound right. All my systems flicker back and forth between 0 and 1 percent at idle. When playing video only the player shows any CPU usage. The rest is System Idle Process. Maybe your A/V software is hogging up CPU cycles?

As manono said, you can try to open the sub/idx file with SubtitleCreator and then save it to sup. If this doesn't work, please post a link to the sub/idx file so that I can have a look.

PS: You can post it to rapidshare and put a link into your reply... what non DVD format can I play in a DVD player? - If you are going to be doing video work, then you will need lots of hard drive space. Suggest you invest in an el cheapo drive that works and go from there.... wintv alternative? - i bought a hauppauge wintv hvr-950q a few months ago. i mostly use it to record HD tv shows and what-not, and i love the quality i get with those. but there are some SD cable shows i like to record once in a while, and i also have some old vhs tapes i would like to convert. but the problem is, the only option wintv gives me for recording analog ... Joining 2 different video clips without re-encoding one of them? - about your only hope is to convert them both to a compatible codec with the same encoding specs. you could try the lossless huffy or lagarith codecs.... Capturing PS2 Footage - just use an RCA cable splitter to split the video feed. hook one to the capture card and one to a tv. play the game while watching the tv, not the computer. this will ensure you play the game with no lag but the video will still be captured... Converting a Video_TS folder into AVI - I think you will find D-Vision to your liking. It excels at this particular task. It does the best job of figuring out appropriate settings automatically (while still allowing you to override its choices). Al.... barebone with atom 330 4 1080p - I'm a little late to this party, but you still need somewhat of a decent CPU for the decryption of the video and the atom falls below this classification :).... Xbox 360 gameplay? - if you don't have an xbox360 with HDMI output then none of the stuff below applies to you :P.

These would be the optimal connections for video and you don't really need to fool with inputs on the computer itself.
